Whirlpool 285811 Agitator Repair Kit for Washer

Fits perfect, and a lot quieter operation
This fixed my agitator issue on my Whirlpool washer. My agitator dog ears were very worn which was causing a loud grinding noise every few seconds. I could have replaced just those four parts (dog ears) for a bit cheaper, but I figured while I had it all apart I would replace the entire cam, bolt and o-ring. I was confused because other suppliers say that the cam needed for my washer is described as "medium" and this item has it listed as "medium" and "small". That should probably be corrected by Amazon (or sellers) to alleviate confusion. This cam is roughly 2.375" tall and fits perfectly. I'm not sure if this is considered small or medium, but it fits just right in my washer.

I also didn't understand the removal of the factory 'tags' on the lower agitator. It seems like if they were removed then it would be a bit more difficult to install. I didn't remove them and everything snapped into place perfectly.

The part number on the cam that I replaced was FSP...

Easy, very inexpensive repair of Agitator...done by my wife!
You can spend several hundred dollars on a new washer. You can spend over a hundred dollars on a repair call. Or you can order this repair kit and fix it yourself in about 10 or 15 minutes. If your Whirlpool Agitator seems to be slipping, this is your solution.

BTW my wife ordered and installed this after watching a video on You Tube! When I went to the big box store, they told me they don't sell this repair kit because they want people to buy a new washer instead of fixing the old one. I thanked him profusely for his honesty, and shared that with my wife. It motivated her to take action herself. The best part...one less thing on my "honey do" list. ;-)

worked like a charm
saved a ton of money since I didn't have to call a repair guy to come out. installation was extremely easy.

Sunbeam FPSBDMM921 Mini Donut Maker, Blue

Best mini donuts
My husband just bought me the mini donut maker yesterday, and this morning I made my first batch.

I used the following recipe (which is a variation of what was in the book)

Bissell Turbo Brush (2036652)

A great addition
purchased this to use with the Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine. A similar tool came with the cleaner but it doesn't have a rotating beater brush. this Turbo brush does an excellent job in the nooks and crannies where the Big machine can't go (especially in our RV). A constant whistling noise while the brush was in use became a little annoying, but a piece of tape on the outside of the little hole on top of the brush where it attaches to the hose took care of that. Seems to be well made and sturdy, and it isn't real expensive so it's very much worth of your consideration if you have, or are going to buy the carpet cleaning machine

Great - but I wish the brush rotated faster
This brush is great. Much better than the basic manual brush on the end of the Green Machine. I just with that the brush was a little more aggressive. It could have been geared to rotate much faster...at least I think that would have made the product better. Also, don't rinse this off in the sink and get the entire thing wet. I did this, and thought I broke it...the brush wouldn't rotate when it was that wet. After it dried out it was just fine. But...just because it is a product that is meant to work in and around moisture DON"T IMMURSE THIS IN WATER.

Not worth it
The Good
A little wider than the base brush

The Bad
Little spinning power / slow spin on the brushes
easy to accidentally bump the slider toggle between brush and vacuum
no deep clean

Overall
I'll admit it - I bought this attachment for my little green pro heat because it sounded cool and that it would let me be lazy - why scrub when you can have a power attachment? This product didn't deliver. The spinning brushes have little power, so if you push down to get a deep clean the brushes slow down or stop spinning altogether, you can't really scrub because the brushes spin forward to back, so you can't scrub side to side or in circular motions. It's really easy to bump the slide button on the top and suction when trying to scrub or vice-versa. the only thing going for this is that it's slightly wider than the original attachment so you get a little more area at once. Given this is used with a small "spot cleaner" carpet shampooer, it's just...

Aqua-Pure AP717 Drinking Water System Filter with Triple Action Filtration

Not as Easy As I Thought
I put this in line with my Ice maker, using screw on tubing. I had to go out and by special ends, the ones that come with it is for platic or copper tubing only...Cubes taste good though, it is doing its job...

Replacement Filter for Refrigerator Icemaker
I purchased the Aqua-Pure AP717 to replace the Aqua-Pure AP717 filter attached to my refrigerator icemaker. The previous filter worked great so I expect the same from the replacement filter. I followed the installation instructions and had no problems with the installation.

Water filter
We drink well water at our NC home in the mountains. This filter really freshens it up and makes it taste nice and crisp. YUM!

Shop-vac 903-40-00 HEPA Cleanstream® Filter

Worth the money if you wash your filter frequently
I normally get the blue filters, completely clog and wash them out once a week. Comparatively, this one is much easier to wash out as it has some sort of teflon-like coating. It doesn't look as terrible afterwards either. Been through three washes and still looks new, I usually get 6-8 out of the blue ones. Will update in a few months with my findings.

7/1 - it's still looking pretty good, if a bit yellowish. Still works like new, has been washed weekly since arrival. The teflon coating is starting to peel and flake as of last week. Might be because I leave it in the sun to dry, I'm not sure. Will continue to use it until it can't perform, definitely got my money's worth out of it. Normally by week 6 on the blue ones I would notice a noise difference in the motor of my shop vac due to it having to work harder to pull air through the filter. I have not yet noticed it on this one.

9/30/10 - Still using it, still washing it weekly, it'll probably need...

Good for dry pickup, not so good for liquids
I'd suggest the cheaper, standard dry-only HEPA filter in place of this one, unless you occasionally suck up damp stuff or small amounts of liquid. This filter is not a good choice for wet applications. I also find that this filter is no easier to clean than any other reuseable cartridge filter. It's rinseable but that sounds better than it works in practice.

If you are faced with sucking up gallons of liquid, this filter doesn't work well. Unless the liquid is very clean, the filter clogs every few minutes. If I'm picking up a lot of liquid, I swap the good ol' foam sleeve back on.

This filter does work well for dry pickup. No more dusty exhaust, a huge improvement over the standard disc filters. However, it's no better than the standard HEPA filter in this regard.

Someone once suggested using an old-fashioned disc filter over the HEPA filter if you use it as a dust collector in a wood shop. I find this to be a very good combination. The disc filter...

CleanStream replacement filter cartridge for Shop-
I purchased this item to be used in a Shop-Vac that removes chips and wood dust from woodworking machines. The claim was that, vacuumed particles would simply fall off the filter

after the power was shut off. I hoped that I could eliminate the expense of filter bags. NOT SO. The filter quickly became clogged and I had to clean it frequently in order to maintain the full flow of air through the vacuum. I have since added the filter bags and have eliminated the filter maintenance problem until the bag is full.

I'm sure that the CleanStream is more efficient than the original filter as far as removing the finer particles from the exhaust air. I would have given the item a 5 if it had met my expectations.

Supco WF286 Kenmore Refrigerator Water Filter Replacement

Purge a Few Gallons Before Drinking
Overall very happy with this product. Replaced a more expensive Sears (Kenmore) brand filter. Fit perfectly. Instructions are a little sparse but then again there's not much to this. Both this brand and the Kenmore brand recommend purging a few gallons of water through the system before use. With the Kenmore filters I don't recall too much debris in the first batch of water. With the Supco filter the first gallon was very cloudy grey. I believe this is loose charcoal from the filter. Either way, the water cleared up very quickly and quality now seems great. Satisfied customer.

Kenmore replacemant filter
The filter installs easily and works pretty good. It seems like the water tastes better with the kenmore brand though , but these cost less.

awesome alternative
I chose this item because we do not have $45 for the brand name. Works great, just like the brand name! I will be stocking up on these in the future

Smartek Deluxe Clothes Shaver

Amazing Product
I'm not sure why two of the reviews are talking about irons. This is not an iron in any way. This is a clothes shaver and it does an excellent job. This is actually my mom's which I borrowed. I am so impressed with this nifty gadget that I will be picking myself up one. I did only use it on pilled sweaters so I'm not sure how it does on lint or fuzz. I also used an ironing board to make the sweaters perfectly flat as well as laying the sweaters out on my bed (my bed spread is a bit lumpy). It did not damage any of my sweaters, even when laid out on my bed. I did have to slowly move the shaver over the sweater to remove the pilling as going too fast caused it to skip over some of the pilled balls.

GREAT product!!!
This is a GREAT product. It works so well we bought another one just to keep as a backup....which I hardly EVER do. My husband said, "You must really like this to buy a "backup!"
I use it on ANYTHING that has fuzz or "pilled" up...It DOES THE JOB! If you're looking for something that works....this is it!

Decent device!
This product is decent for taking away pills and lint off many clothes like socks and sweaters. It doesnt do the job 100% but it does a pretty decent job but you have to be patient because it takes a while until the machine takes out the pills.

germguardian AC4010 3-in-1 Table Top Air Cleaning System

Excellent product! Review with Common Problem FIX!
Hello everyone. I just received this tabletop air filter and sanitizer today in the mail from Amazon. Initial impressions are these:

1) Great size, will fit any table-top, even night stands.
2) Solid Build quality in the molded plastic housing and electrical cord.
3) SUPER QUIET blower fan with or without filter installed.
4) *Perfect* Air Flow Rate. **Too fast of an air flow rate and there is no way the Germicidal action will occur as it takes time for the DNA Base Pairing of Germs to be disrupted, which is the core of Germicidal UV Technology.
5) Incorrect labeling of the UVC Germicidal lamp (it says UVA, but is CLEARLY UVB at worst**).
6) A common problem with an easy fix... "My bulb isn't turning on!!!" SEE BELOW;

UV Basics; Mercury Vapor Tube lights produce 4 distinct peak UV outputs of light:
Near-UV - "Black Light" - Causes Fluorescence - Peak output at Mercury's H-Line @ 404nm. 400nm+

Highly Recommend!!
Just received this tabletop model today, and am combining it with the black tower version in our large great room. I thought it wasn't working at first because on the low speed it is so quiet, I could barely hear it! Even on it's highest speed, it is so much quieter than an Oreck air cleaner we have in our bedroom. That one I actually have to turn on the lowest speed so we can sleep. I have noticed in just one day the difference it makes. The air smells fresh and clean, even with two dogs!

I recommend this particular brand because my doctor has one in every one of his patient rooms, including his reception area. I think if a physician uses it, then it's probably good enough for my family! I think it will definitely cut down on our colds, etc. this winter.

cute little purifier
So I actually got this at Target for $59.99 + tax. It was the last one in stock and came no with manual. It was noisy for a small purifier so I thought something was wrong with it. The machine would rumble and shake with a loud reverberating sound, and got pretty annoying so I had to turn it off. A week later I went back to the store to exchange for a new one and the new machine was a lot more quiet and made less noise. I realized the first one I got might have been defective since it was the last one in stock and with the missing manual it might have been used. So if your purifier is making loud noises, make sure you return it for another one. I like how it is small, portable, and easy to carry wherever. The machine blows out a cool, gentle breeze like a mini fan which I like because it feels nice on warm days. I would leave the machine on for more than two hours and I can feel the difference in the my room. The room smells fresher and cleaner with the purifier. The good thing about...

GE WR02X11705 Cap Filter Bypass for Refrigerator

Works Excellent!
After seeing that the replacement filter for my refrigerator was about $46 at the home improvement stores (closer to $33 on Amazon), and reading all about how little difference the filter actually made, I decided to spend the $13 on this, and I'm glad that I did. It's a factory GE part, fit perfectly, and did exactly what it was supposed to. My water now comes out with good speed, as it was intended, and the ice maker is back to working efficiently. If the water coming into your house is of decent quality, save yourself hundreds of dollars over the life of the refrigerator and pick this thing up. You'll be glad you did. :)

Note: I use a GE refrigerator and it uses a "MWF" filter. This plug uses the same connector type. Check yours for compatibility.

Money saver!
This is exactly what we were looking for, just didn't know if it existed! We have well water so we don't really need a filter, but had to buy them or we couldn't get ice or water through our fridge. Filters are so expensive, and have to be replaced too often. This filter bypass plug works just fine, and our water tastes great!

Lost original - this one did the job
If you use reverse osmosis, it doesn't create enough pressure to get a good flow going through the internal fridge filter. This bypass does the job.

Hamilton Beach Countertop Oven with Convection and Rotisserie

Small enough to fit on a countertop, large enough to be useful
Make no mistake, this is no mere toaster oven. It's the first portable oven of the many that I've owned that is actually large enough to do some serious cooking. The two included removable racks allow you the versatility of baking on two levels simultaneously or of accommodating a taller cooking vessel on a single level. The usable interior space measures 8.5" high, 13" deep and 13.75" wide and will fit two 13" round pizza stones or two 9" x 13" baking dishes. Just be sure that the baking dishes don't have handles which might put them over the limit.

It shipped with rotisserie equipment, two metal shelf racks, one large enameled metal baking pan and one smaller aluminum broiler or baking pan with a rack that fits inside. The enameled pan is a shelf unto itself and it fits into the rack slots whereas the smaller pan sits on one of the supplied shelf racks. You may never need anything else but if you do, Amazon sells many other accessories which will fit the...

Super for outdoors!
I bought this to go in the garage so that I could get the cooking heat out of the kitchen. So far I've done quickie dinners like chicken strips and frozen pizza but I have also done cornish game hens using the rotisserie feature as well as homemade bannana bread, pigsnblankets, baked fish and augrautin potatos. It's done a great job at everything. I chose this oven because it was the only one with rotisserie and the ability to fit a 9x13 casserole (actually it holds two!) and should come in handy for Thanksgiving and the like. I will point out that casserole dishes with handles or grab sides will not fit, so don't be disappointed when your go-to pyrex dishes with handles won't fit.

If your plan is to use this inside your house to keep from having to fire up your full size oven then I would discourage you from getting this because I think this oven will heat up the house just as much and take up a ton of space. If you plan on keeping it in the garage or a covered...

Thermostat is sloppy
For the cost of this oven, it is OK. Nothing special. There are some things this oven does well, but to excel at baking is not one of them. For reheats and those things that are not critical, it does the job. Two things that bring it down for us. The main thing is how sloppy the thermostat is. When placed on just "bake" with out the use of the convection fan, the temperature is where it should be, but only after I calibrated it. It was found to be 25 degrees high. But when used with the convection fan, the temperature can go as high as 60 degrees over from what the thermostat is set for.
I have many years behind me repairing appliances. Have calibrated more ovens then I can count. I had to calibrate this oven and it was then when I found the difference between convection and normal bake. I knew from the results of what we cooked that the two were not even close. While I was able to calibrate for ether convection use or normal, there was no way I could do both. Convection ovens...

Sunbeam FPSBDML920 Donut Maker, Yellow

Fresh Donuts at Home are Great!!
I received this as a gift from a friend this holiday season. I have made some great donuts so far. Steering clear of the recipes included in the instructional booklet, (a tip from users online), I found recipes by doing a search online. Recipes for donuts that include butter seem to be the best bet. It takes me about an hour from start to finish to prepare and create a whole batch of 10-12 donuts.

Before putting the dough into the wells, I brush butter in them and it helps the donut brown nicely. Make sure not to overfill the wells, only fill halfway, or the mixture will bubble out the sides and create a donut with excess. I leave each batch in about 10 minutes to ensure the donuts are cooked through and the outsides are brown. If you don't add enough batter, your donuts will brown unevenly. If I'm making cinnamon sugar donuts, I dip the donuts into butter and swirl to get a coating, then dip them in a cinnamon sugar mixture to top them. These store very well in the...

Works perfectly!
LOVE this donut maker. It is very easy to use and works perfectly - donuts cook quickly and pop out easily, and the surface is easy to wipe off when cooking is done. I have also been experimenting with muffin mixes, etc. to make muffin 'donuts' for fun breakfasts - some mixes add a minute or so to the normal cook time, but that is still fast. My favorite recipe so far: one box butter recipe yellow cake mix with a teaspoon each of cinnamon, nutmeg, and mace (I leave out the oil so they are healthier - still delicious). Makes a really good traditional cake donut. So, so good...depending on what recipe or mix you use, the donuts have the potential to be a lot healthier than store-bought donuts as well since they aren't fried. The donuts are great the first day - fine the second day if you pop them in the microwave for a few seconds to warm them up.

Just what we needed
We just bought this over the weekend and tried it out with a gluten-free recipe. We had given up "fresh" donuts to buy GF frozen ones, which are good, but nothing like hot and homemade. My 8-yr-old daughter was in heaven -- we made glazes from the recipes that came with the maker and also just sprinkled them with cinnamon sugar. The doughnuts are small, so she ate 5 of them -- for our family of 5 we made about 20 doughnuts. Very easy, quick and a fun morning treat!

Whirlpool 4396037RP 0-to-18-Inch Vent Periscope

great vent just needs a little help
the directions were not very good if you needed to cut or resize. luckily my dad and i have some common sense when it comes to these things and we could use the full length with no cutting. the periscope allowed me to put the dryer very close to the wall, which was what i wanted. however, after a couple of days i had lint building up in my laundry room. i stuck my hand down the side and felt a gap on the end of the periscope letting quite a bit of air escape while the dryer was running. we had to pull the unit out and tape the seams of the periscope. once we did this, there were no more air leaking problems. overall i would recommend this product. just tape the seams BEFORE you intall with foil tape.

Good product
This product is a must if you need to get your dryer closer to the wall. We found a version of this product at one of the "big box" stores for a few dollars cheaper, but the quality was visibly poorer - the "big box" version was flimsier and only electrically spot welded, as opposed to the Whirlpool, which has properly finished and folded-in seams.

Installation was fairly easy and the product comes with instructions, but you'll likely need a pair of tin snips to cut the excess material away once you've determined the proper size.

You will want to buy some foil tape (check the "Frequently purchased together" section), to tape the seams off after you've got the periscope to the proper size. It's important as this will prevent the vented exhaust from leaking into your laundry area.

Overall, a great product!

Vent Periscope
Our washer and dryer are along one wall in the kitchen, so we need to get them as close to the wall as possible. The existing dryer vent did not line up with that on the dryer, so initially we used a flexible 4" aluminum connector, which meant that the back of the dryer was more than 4" from the wall. We thought of aligning the vent inlet and outlet, but that would have involved cutting a new 4" hole through a concrete block wall, and we did not have any power equipment with which to do this task and did not wish to do it by hand with a 12" star drill and a hammer. The Whirlpool Vent Periscope allowed us to close the gap to about 2". Installation involved the use of tin snips to shorten the degree to which the pipe from the external vent came into the room and to shape the Whirlpool Vent Periscope to the proper length. The sides, ends, and area around the vent inlet and outlet of the Periscope were then wrapped twice in aluminum tape to prevent lint from being released into the...

Maytag UKF8001AXX PuriClean II Refrigerator Cyst Reducing Water Filter, 1-Pack (Discontinued by MFG 2009)

Simple maintenance for your fridge
You gotta hand it to Maytag - they made replacing the water filter very simple. Took all of about 30 seconds from start to finish. And about 20 seconds of that was wiping up the water that dripped out of the old filter when I pulled it out, so the next change should go even better ;-)

We have a family of six and we drink water almost exclusively, so I went ahead and changed the filter at six months just like the owner's guide recommended. However, I could see no evidence that the filter was near its end of life and am convinced that I can get more use out of the filters than the suggested six months. I will try to keep an eye on things, but without a little window I really have no way other than flow to know what is going on.

And that is why I gave this a rating of four stars. The filter seems to work wonderfully and replacement is a breeze, but I would be happier if I could look at the state of the filter while it is in use.

Bad Ice Cubes? Get this
My Ice Cube make was having major problems. Ice Cubes were hollow and Ice was sticking on the White Prongs that pop the cubes out. I called Amana and they were no help so I figured that the Cube maker was not getting enough water flow.

I replaced with this filter and now the Ice Cube maker is like new and the water shoots out of the dispenser like crazy. What used to take 25-30 seconds to fill a glass of water now takes 3-5 seconds.

So if you are having Ice Cube issues or poor water flow buy this.

It's a little expensive for a water filter but it's worth it.

Oh and the water tastes good too.

Whirlpool replacement filter
This is a very expensive item for what you get, and it certainly doesn't last as long as they say it does. The taste of your water coming through this filter is great for the first month or so, but then the quality drops noticeably quick.

I think the price of this item is unfairly high, but once you buy a refrigerator that needs them, you're stuck. You either buy the filter or put up with nasty tasting water from your refrigerator spigot.

A good rule of thumb, if you're buying one filter, better buy two, because you'll need a new one quicker than you think.

Vornado Zippi Personal Fan, White

Saved me in the hot hospital room, and great for travel
This is my second Zippy Fan. The previous one just did not start this year after one year of good service. I wish it lasted longer, but there is nothing like it out there, so I had to get another one.

Last year a Zippy Fan made my stay in the hospital and rehabilitation facility after surgery tolerable. Both places were very hot, and I had Zippy on 24 hours a day for three weeks. No other fan could have worked as well because there was very little room in both facilities and people constantly knocked into the fan in the tight quarters. Because the cloth blades did not hurt anyone it was okay. In addition to the unique blades the fan is totally quiet and provides a great blast of air.

I also take Zippy with me when I travel in case the hotels are too hot. It is very small and light, and does not take up much space in the suitcase.

I am attaching two photos. The first photo shows Zippy folded up for travel and standing in its full size. There is a...

Great little fan
I'm one of those crazy people that needs the sound of a fan to sleep. About a week before my trip, I realized our hotel room in Jamaica only had a ceiling fan. I found this on Amazon and bought it. It's not very loud, but it does make some noise. It was enough to allow me to fall asleep, and it blows out a good amount of air. It's small, folds up to make it even smaller, and it works just fine. TSA did not have a problem with it on my carry on either in case anyone is wondering. If you need a small fan then you can't go wrong with this. Anyone who complains about lack or air flow or anything like that is crazy. For it's size, it pushes out a good amount of air. If you need more air, then buy a bigger fan.

Love this "safe" fan.
I have this fan on my bedside table and love it. Yes it does make some noise but there are no fans you can buy that produce reasonable wind without noise. The "safe" fan blades are an additional plus as I never have to worry about kids, or myself, sticking my hand into spinning blades. It is a nice compact size and looks very cool. I have the white color but it comes in a variety of different colors. Overall I am very pleased with this fan.
