Hampton-Bay FAN9T Thermostatic Remote Control

Does not dim
The old remote was also labeled FAN9T but it has a yellow light button and it brightens and dims the light as you hold down the button. This model does not, it only turns the light off and on, otherwise it works fine.

Great Replacement for the Original
So, the original remote died, and no amount of pounding by the wife would bring it back to life. After careful research, I decided to try this replacement remote. Heck, it was only a little more than $20 with shipping. If you are looking for a remote for your Hampton Bay Windward II, which, if it's the same as mine, is reversible, make sure your remote has that function. There is a replacement remote that looks like the right one, but what would be the "forward/reverse" button on the original remote is "Fan Timer" on that one. Be careful, lest you get the wrong remote.

The replacement remote arrived in a timely manner (not as fast as Prime), and, to my delight the remote code matched that of the fan, so no climbing to sync the codes was necessary. Bottom line is that everything is working fine, except the new remote does not allow the dimming and brightening of the fluorescent bulb as did the original. The light is either on or off. Not a problem, though.

Replacement.
You know how remotes seem to walk away? Ours had been gone for a good long time. We were absolutely sure that if we bought a replacement remote, the old one would appear. Not so, but this was an easy way to end to our frustration.
