As Tim "Tool Man" Taylor would say, NEEDS MORE POWER
We have one, used it twice. The first time with fresh, quality popcorn, 3/4 of the kernels popped, but 20 or so remained in the cooker cup and burned. We were puzzled.
We tested it against a ~25 year old West Bend Corn Poppery II (1200W). First up, the wiley veteran. We preheated it for a minute or so, put in 1/4 C and waited. Kernels started popping mostly at once. The were a few pieces of popped corn left in the cooker cup but the fast blowing air whirled them up an out of the popper. ONE kernel remained unpopped. 10-15 kernels flew out prior to popping when the as the first few kernels popped and flew out; collateral damage I guess.
We ran the Nostalgia Electrics popper (1040W) for a minute plus to preheat then added same amount of corn. They popping action started at a similar time. None of the earlier popped corn jumped out of the cooker cup, they just rode the wave. As more kernels popped, the popped corn came out the shoot. When mostly done, the...
Unpopped kernels, noisy
Noisier than any popcorn maker that I've ever owned + an unbelievable number of unpopped kernels. Shopping for a different popper.

great birthday gift for my daughter-in-law. she really likes it. it's cute enough to leave on her kitchen counter. super.
