Oster 6026 Blend-N- Go Cup

Decent, conveniant.
I bought an "oster blend-n-go" cup from amazon about 2 years ago it was awesome. When I ordered this one I thought it was the same one.....it isn't. The plastic is thin and very flexible, so it flexes a little bit when blending ice for smoothies. It does a poor job crushing ice compared to my other blend-n-go cup. It doesn't leak, has good measurements, but I wish it was the thicker more durable plastic.

Perfect for individual servings
If you tend to want to blend single-serving drinks/smoothies and don't want the trouble of cleaning the full-size blender, lid, etc, then this cup really is the perfect addition to your (and my!) Oster blender. I was concerned about the allegedly "flimsy" plastic mentioned in other reviews, so I checked it out at my local Walmart first in person, was satisfied, and went ahead and got it. It's not a hard plastic like the shielding over airplane windows, but it's definitely not "flimsy" at all! Maybe a fair comparison would be the original, really tough Tupperware thickness, though even that I can bend a little bit, and this cup I cannot. It's really sturdy, so don't let that idea deter you. I admit that I haven't used the lid for travel purposes yet and so can't comment, but the blade, rubber gasket, and cup all fit perfectly together, blend beautifully, and then I just pop off the blade and gasket, pop in a straw, and I'm set! Washed daily in the dishwasher with no problems several...

Excellent Cup
I think this is a great cup. The other reviews worried me that the plastic would be "flimsy," but I didn't find this to be the case. I don't know if Oster changed the material (it looks like the same translucent plastic) but I can't even get the cup to bend if I squeeze it hard with both hands. The smoothies I make in this cup are just as good as those I make in the glass blender jar: no problems with ice-crushing ability. I even use this cup when I'm not "on-the-go" just to reduce the dishes I need to wash.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I wish the cup was a little smaller. Probably not everyone will agree with me, but no one needs THAT much smoothie for breakfast and I would rather have it fit into my bag more easily. The description says 18 oz blending capacity, but I would say it's closer to 20. Sometimes I'm just annoyed that I'm carrying this huge cup that's only 1/2 to 2/3 full. But that's just my preference. Oh yeah, and it's too tall to use a normal...

Soyajoy G4 Soy Milk Maker and Soup Maker - with All Stainless Steel Inside - New 2013 Model Introduction Sale

Excellent for almond milk
I like to make large volumes of food once or twice a month and freeze everything for later use. So I was looking for a machine that could help streamline my almond milk making process. This item has done that for me. It easily doubled my output (mileage may vary). :) I wish there was a mechanism to squeeze the excess milk from the pulp since passive draining through a sieve (a very nice and finely meshed one too, though a tad smallish) usually isn't enough. I also turn the almond pulp into crackers so I do need the excess liquid removed. I used a cloth to wring the liquid out, but every other step in the process was easy and fast. I used the raw/juice option for my milk. I do add warm water so I could use one of the heating options as well if I chose to add cold water. The raw/juice option takes maybe 8-10mins. While the heated options take 26 mins (per the manual). I just wanted to go faster and I had warm water handy. I processed through just under 9 lbs of almonds in a little over...

Blessedly quiet, makes great almond milk
My ND suggested I stop drinking soy milk as it was raising my estradiol levels. He suggested substituting almond milk.

I tried making it with my Osterizer, which was incredibly noisy and messy.

Then I ordered the G4 from Amazon after some research and it is very quiet, apart from some very annoying loud beeps when you program it and when it is finished making the milk.

I have found that it is vital to soak the almonds for at least 12 hours to soften them. I have also found that increasing the number of almonds 50% over what they recommend makes a thicker, most tasty milk and cycling the G4 three times makes the pulp so fine you don't really need to strain it. The fiber is good for you anyway.

Now, if we could just get them to tone down the beeps.

Makes Great Soymilk
Soyajoy G4 makes great tasting soy milk and requires very minimal effort from its user. That doesn't mean no work, but it's far easier to make soy milk with this product than using traditional kitchen tools like pots and blenders.

I used to buy soy milk from a grocery store, and there are several things I had to learn (or am still learning) when I switched to making soy milk at home:

1.Soy beans need to be soaked in water overnight before cooking (though Soyajoy G4 does have an option for both soaked and dry beans, soaked beans would yield better result according to the manual). So if you wake up in the morning and realize that you don't have enough soy milk left for your breakfast cereal, oops, too late.

2.Making soy milk yields quite a lot of okara (pulpy left over from milking process). Okara is nutritious and beneficial for one's health, but incorporating okara into my daily diet isn't so intuitive and I'm still learning how to make good use of...

work as expected
These bags are the branded bags and work as expected. Great price compared to retail outlet nearby.

Hoover Type W2 Hepa Filter Bags
The bags are perfect, works excellent and a great bargain. These bags are next to impossible to find in stores, and if you do its extremely overpriced or generic. I am extremely satisfied with my purchase and will buy again from this seller.

Vitamix 1732 TurboBlend VS Blender

Variable speed is essential, best deal here
If you're serious about using a Vitamix, you need the variable speed (VS). And I don't mean just high and low, but 1-10, in addition to high and low. With that, you can make cole sole in 2 seconds (no kidding!) and a lot of other things that you couldn't with more limitations, because different things require different speeds, sometimes increasing incrementally.

This is the same price, package and warranty that you get if you buy directly from Vitamix. I was tempted to rate it only 4 stars, because it is way overpriced. With an Amazon Store card, it's interest-free IF you pay it off within 6 months -- and that's vital, because whopping interest applies if you don't. Vitamix has a payment plan, too, but you have to pay more when you order and have only 3 months after that to pay it off. So Amazon's deal breaks it up into 6 smaller payments, which makes it the most affordable way for many of us to get one of these machines. There is nothing else quite like them. Blentec is...

Worth every penny...
Yes, the Vitamix is an expensive blender at $500. It simply can't be compared to any other though - it is an amazing product. All of the claims are true - you can put just about anything in it and turn into a consistent smooth liquid. To be honest I'm not a big veggie guy, yet I know the importance of consuming them - there is a ton of research that validates a plant-based diet is MUCH healthier than SAD (Standard American Diet). I've had the Vitamix for about a week and have had fun making fruit/veggie smoothies (that taste good - even with lots of green stuff!). The TurboBlend VS is the one to go for - the "cookbook" that comes with it is full of great ideas.

Recommended to all!
Wow, count me in as a newly minted VitaMix convert!

I just got delivery of my new VitaMix blender (to replace an NSF-rated KitchenAid Commercial blender [ahem, that's NSF, not NSFW...]) and immediately put it to work.

I threw in all that I could find, which was Kale, Celery, Carrots, Daikon, Cabbage, Ginger root, Strawberries, Pear, Apple, Orange, dried Apricots, Prunes, Flax seed, Psyllium husk, raw Almonds, raw Pine Nuts, Tumeric (ground), Ascorbic Acid, plenty of ice and some water.

I did leave out the Canteloupe; clearly no more room at the inn... (I had to force the lid down to allow it to snap back on.)

The initial mixture was mud pot thick. With the blades racing underneath at 240 mph the top of the mix sat insanely still, with just an occasional belch (signal?) of air slowly surfacing through the verdant depths.

Adding a bit of water did the trick, liberating the brew into a whirling pot of creamy veg and fruit. Not a...

Holmes HEH8031-UM Energy Saving Heater Fan

Great heater.
This heater is surprisingly quiet. I am impressed. It's not as flashy as more expensive heaters but the performance is just as good as any other 1500w heater out there. Living in MN I've pretty much tried every type of space heater. I've used other heating coil fan style heaters, radiator, micathermic, quartz, and ceramic tower heaters. This is one of the least expesive space heaters that I've bought and it performs very well. It's hard to find a good heater that's quiet at any price point, let alone one with a digital thermostat that functions correctly. This one is a winner. It has a 3 yr. warranty which seems to be pretty standard with most space heaters. FYI - I actually bought this at Target for a little cheaper (paid the same with tax) and plan on purchasing a second one.

Almost great, poorly made
This seemed like a great by - reduce energy use, put out some heat, and cool to the touch, as it was going in my 2 yr old's room. First unit arrived, worked great! Heated room, cool to touch, and didn't need to run constantly. After about a week of very limited use - it stopped working. Seemed to be a control malfunction, would display, but not turn on. OK, defective unit. Sent it back, got the replacement quickly. Worked great - FOR ONE DAY! It now powers on, puts out a weird spark on the coil, heats for 4 seconds then clunks out. Doesn't seem safe and doesn't work. Either they have terrible quality control or something is wrong with their design, because I can't believe a company could put out a product that fails this miserably. Fool me once... It's getting returned now, off to look for something similar that works (kind of the baseline requirement).

A great little heater
This is the perfect heater to heat one room. We use it in our bathroom before taking a shower. I like the digitial controls which are very easy to read. Also, it automatically shuts off if it gets tipped over. It is very lightweight and streamlined. It is a very good heater for the price.

Supco WF294 Refrigerator Water Filter Cartridge

Will do the job but...
the head will fit with the fridge but the filter diameter is smaller than the original Samsung filter. This meant it is harder to put it in (unlike the original Samsung filter, you will need to turn off the water or otherwise the water will spill out)

Good savings
Installs with no trouble. Always shut the water supply off, even they say you don't have to . We have a small shut off right behind and a little to the left of our Samsung 28 that is very handy .Twist old filter to the left about 1/4 turn then pull out . Install new filter after wiping the front with clean paper towel ,then install by positioning the filter handle top at the 8'o clock position ,push in straight then turn filter handle to the 12'o clock position , you will feel resistance, but you will know when it is in connect position .Turn the shut off back on , bleed the line , it will sputter at first ( about one gal . or so ). Check for leaks with a flash light . Filter tests better than incoming tap water on my water quality tester . Works for us .

Great price
This filter replaces my original Samsung filter perfectly ata an affordable price. I wil ldefinately order from another one when the time comes.

Whirlpool 285811 Agitator Repair Kit for Washer

Fits perfect, and a lot quieter operation
This fixed my agitator issue on my Whirlpool washer. My agitator dog ears were very worn which was causing a loud grinding noise every few seconds. I could have replaced just those four parts (dog ears) for a bit cheaper, but I figured while I had it all apart I would replace the entire cam, bolt and o-ring. I was confused because other suppliers say that the cam needed for my washer is described as "medium" and this item has it listed as "medium" and "small". That should probably be corrected by Amazon (or sellers) to alleviate confusion. This cam is roughly 2.375" tall and fits perfectly. I'm not sure if this is considered small or medium, but it fits just right in my washer.

I also didn't understand the removal of the factory 'tags' on the lower agitator. It seems like if they were removed then it would be a bit more difficult to install. I didn't remove them and everything snapped into place perfectly.

The part number on the cam that I replaced was FSP...

Easy, very inexpensive repair of Agitator...done by my wife!
You can spend several hundred dollars on a new washer. You can spend over a hundred dollars on a repair call. Or you can order this repair kit and fix it yourself in about 10 or 15 minutes. If your Whirlpool Agitator seems to be slipping, this is your solution.

BTW my wife ordered and installed this after watching a video on You Tube! When I went to the big box store, they told me they don't sell this repair kit because they want people to buy a new washer instead of fixing the old one. I thanked him profusely for his honesty, and shared that with my wife. It motivated her to take action herself. The best part...one less thing on my "honey do" list. ;-)

worked like a charm
saved a ton of money since I didn't have to call a repair guy to come out. installation was extremely easy.

Cuisinart CPT-415 Countdown 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster

Very Nice Toaster
Nice looking and nice performing toaster! I like the bagel feature. It crisps the inside and not the outside of each bagel half. I like to use the bagel setting on English muffins; it makes the inside crunchy while keeping the outside softer. Countdown feature tells you how much time is left before the toast is finished. Also it has a "push-up" feature for easy removal of smaller items. Great toaster!

Excellent toaster
On delivery the box had puncture due to shipper, and the toaster was dented. Amazon replaced it promptly. New toaster works fine. We like the countdown, the bagel adjustment, and being able to raise the toast by the lever (after toasting) to grasp it. Very very slight difference in toasting amount on each side, not objectionable at all. Haven't used warming feature yet but we're glad its available. Would buy the same toaster again.

Toaster--Cuisinart CPT-415 Countdown
First, I plan to return this toaster. My main disappointment with it is that it toasts one side nicely but the other side is much lighter; I like my toast TOASTED. This happens whether I use one--my usual--or two slices. The info that came with the toaster said this would happen when two slices were toasted. The toaster has more options than I need/use, but they probably are handy for others. Split bagels fit nicely; I use regular settings rather than the "bagel" setting since I like both sides toasted. I would be happy with this toaster and keep it IF it toasted single slices evenly on each side! I have had this toaster for almost a month, with occasional use.

Electrolux Ergospace Green Canister Vacuum, EL 4101A

Electrolux v. Hoover canister
Since I've spent the past 24 hours (or more) researching vacuums -- and bought two to try out at home, side by side -- I thought I should share my findings with the rest of you.

First off, my 23-year-old Hoover canister finally died on me a few weeks ago. I'd had the thing at the shop maybe once for some work, but other than that, it still worked like a charm til the very end. It had a self-propelling power head that roared like a elephant and scared small children and pets, but it but really sucked the dirt in its heyday. It was sort of scary on hardwood, but I made do. After all, it was practically a member of the family -- the same age as my oldest son.

So when it died, I knew it would be a hard act to follow. I knew I wanted a canister. To tell you the truth, what I like most are the long wands that I use to clean everything from ceiling fans to air vents to baseboards. The little attachment hoses on the uprights just didn't seem like they'd do the trick. I...

Finally a long enough hose!
I picked this up at Costco for considerably less than I see it advertised elsewhere. I have many unhappy vacuum experiences and thought was just fated to hate the product or spend big bucks. This one is just the ticket for me, on a budget but living in a kingdom of cobwebs and pet hair. I have vaulted ceilings with beams, and this is the first time I have not had to stand on a chair or lift the vacuum canister onto a counter to reach every nook and cranny. Long hose, long cord, very portable, and wow, it REALLY does adjust when you go from bare floor to carpet so that you don't get sucked down onto the carpet. The suction adjuster is easy to use, but I didn't even need it. Love the bare floor setting, which has little stiff brushes that loosen debris that might be a little stuck to the floor. I also have cabinets off the floor with space underneath, and this is the first time i have been able to easily reach all the way under cabinets and furniture with out having to assemble some...

Great choice for homes with minimal carpet
The 4101A appears to be the new version of the (also high-rated) UltraSilencer EL6984A. I've seen mention of that on several other sites, even though the Electrolux web site lists both models as being current. So, you should have a look at the reviews for that model as much of the commentary should apply to this one.

It works great; tons of suction and minimal noise (it is far quieter than my upright, which was already a quiet model). The hose is 9' long, which in my opinion is a perfect length. Six feet is more common, but with the extra 3' you don't have to pull the canister around quite as much and can more easily access the tops of cabinets, etc with the hose attachments.

The telescoping wand and floor nozzle are fairly agile & once you get the hang of how the joints bend it is easy to clean underneath tables, chairs, couches, etc. You need minimal clearance (only about 2.5-3") to get under something - I found no furniture in my home that I couldn't get...

Sunbeam FPSBDMM921 Mini Donut Maker, Blue

Best mini donuts
My husband just bought me the mini donut maker yesterday, and this morning I made my first batch.

I used the following recipe (which is a variation of what was in the book)
5 tbsp. butter

Nina Soft Spin Dryer

Really spins out water!
I received this yesterday after purchasing from the manufacturer. I tried it on some of my son's clothes and it really spun out the water (they were polyester) to the point of coming out almost dry. I was impressed as to how quiet it is as well. The feet really grip the hard floor so there is only a little wobble when it gets started. I will update my review after I have used it for a longer time and with larger loads. One think to remember is when you first get it there is a metal rod attached to the bottom with a zip tie. At first I thought it was a drain spout extension and plugged in the machine. I quickly realized that it is there to keep the machine from bouncing around in transit and that it must be removed before plugging it in. I literally had it plugged for 2 seconds and quickly unplugged before any damage occurred, but I could see someone burning out the motor if they left it attached and plugged in longer. In my directions there was nothing written about removing...

Pretty good
I was worried that this wouldn't perform as well as that other model they discontinued. I'm glad other people reviewed it because I finally bit the bullet and ordered a mini washer and spin dryer (this one). I washed a pair of boxers and wrung them as much as humanly possible... and then put them in this thing.

First thing to note: this thing is really really quiet, aside from the initial startup which is 100% fine, coming from a picky person like myself. Once it starts you just have to stand with it for 5 seconds until it stabilizes.

Secondly, I was worried about the RPM but they address on their site that this is as efficient as the one no longer in stock, even with lower RPM. And not that I've ever tried the other one, but I'm totally satisfied with this... after wringing my boxers out, the Spin dryer still got out like the equivalent of the top of a peanut butter jar filled with water, which is pretty good for how well I wrung that thing out. I can imagine it...

Works well.
This unit is pretty lightweight and fairly quiet given what it does - spins really fast to pull out water from your clothes.
There is no on/off switch. When plugged in, the unit will fire up when the lid is shut. When you move the latch to open the lid, the motor will shut off.

Sometimes, when trying to spin up with heavy wet clothes, the unit might not be balanced enough to spin up and the inner tub will bounce around. I re-adjust the clothes, put the plastic cover over the clothes, push down and close the lid.... off the races the Spin Dryer goes.

I let it run until I don't see any significant moisture coming out of the drain (maybe 5 minutes). The non-cotton clothes seem close to dry and the cotton clothes are just a bit damp. I hang dry the clothes or put them in the dryer on the shortest time setting.

IMO, this kind of device is essential if you hand wash your clothes or use a portable machine without any kind of good spin cycle.

Black & Decker VF110FC Hand Vacuum Filter with Agitator

I guess it's okay
Not quite sure what it is supposed to do. While initially shopping, I got the impression this was needed, but when the Dust Buster arrived, I found that there was a "simpler" filter included. I have not figured out what the agitator does.

GOOD IDEA TO KEEP AN EXTRA FILTER HANDY
These vacuum filters get clogged with hair and dust quickly at my house so it needs to be washed often. Otherwise the vacuum cleaner suction isn't strong enough to pick up stuff. That's why I ordered this filter. Now I have an extra to use in the vac while the original is drying.

Filter OK+
It does all that it's suppose to do and holds up well. The price is fair and it fits tightly.

Electrolux UltraActive DeepClean Bagless Canister Vacuum, EL4300B

Best Electrolux I own
I had Electrolux EL6989A Oxygen Ultra for five and a half years and I liked it; however the quality of the wand wasn't as good so it was time to replace it (even tho I could just replace the wand since vacuum still working). So I got Dyson DC33 and after 2 days of use it went back to the store - it's a complete failure if you used to canister :)
After that I decided to pull the trigger on Electrolux UltraActive. I couldn't find any reviews on it; I was only able to find specs and based on that it has more power 2100W vs 1400w in my old one, and also new design for the wand and motorized brush head.
So I placed an order on kohls.com and after I got it I was pretty surprised how good it is with a few quirks :)
Pros:
- It's much quieter than my old Electrolux vacuum
- New updated design of the wand and brush head seems more durable
- It doesn't use bags (it's bagless vacuum)
- It is way more powerful than the old one
Quirks:
- After you push...

Overall Very Pleased
I just purchased this vacuum after much research to replace my 13 year old vacuum that finally bit the dust. Overall I am very satisfied with it's performance. Since I was very used to my previous vacuum, albeit very old, I used this new vacuum with an eye of scrutiny.
Pros:
Love that it is bag-less and you can see exactly what and how much it picks up. Feels very sturdy though not overly heavy. I have both hard floors and carpet. Love the large hard floor attachment, I can cover the floor much faster and despite its size is still very maneuverable in tight spots. The carpet brush picks up excellent yet thin enough to get under beds and most furniture and still very maneuverable. Canister is very easy to dump out contents.
Cons:
The cord could have been a little longer compared to my old vacuum. I have to use a couple different outlets in order to reach all the surface areas. While I do love the size of the hard floor attachment, the suction is not as...

excellent vacuum cleaner
We wanted to replace our 10 year old upright. I did a lot of research and am very glad I picked this vacuum. We needed a compact vacuum that was good on hardwood floors, area rugs and wall to wall carpet. Also, a hepa filter for my allergic dog. This is a powerful vacuum, I could not believe the dirt we got up that our old vacuum was missing. You can turn off the beater bar on the handle when going from carpet to hardwood or to save the fringe on rugs. It also has a nice big floor brush for hardwood and tile. If you suck up a shoelace or cord it shuts off immediatly to save your belt. The bagless dirt cup is very easy to empty. The length of the wand is adjustable for people of different heights. It's very light and easy to maneuver. It has slow start technology which is better for the motor, so it appears to hesitate when turned on. But, do not accidently pick up the vacuum by the dirt cup handle as it will fall with a crash. Another nice feature is the handle pivots flat to vacuum...

Hamilton Beach 24444 Smart Toast Extra-Wide Slot Toaster

hamilton beach toaster
We really like this toaster and especially like the defrost button. With our old toaster when we would toast frozen waffles or frozen breakfast treats we would have to turn the item over and toast it again for a partial toast cycle to get it done.........often the top half might be still soggy ......................... but by using the defrost button everything toasts thoroughly the first time.

Excellent Toaster
Excellent toaster it does bagels and toast evenly
what more can I say its a toaster
worth the money so buy it

Perfect
Great toaster, lots of features, love the cool touch sides and the wide slots fit just about any kind of bread.

T-fal YG232BUS Balanced Living Yogurt Maker with LCD Timer, White

A pretty good yogurt maker for a very decent price!
My family eats a LOT of yogurt. My kids love it, and I enjoy it as well. As such, it gets pretty expensive loading up on all those single serving containers of yogurt at the store - not to mention wasteful and potentially unhealthy with all the added sugars. I have a yogurt maker at home, but it only makes one huge batch, and since I tend to have slightly finicky kids, the flavor one is thrilled about is guaranteed to NOT be the flavor the other one wants. So I have been eyeballing a yogurt maker with individual *glass* containers for a while and thought I would try this one out.

I followed the instructions for the Fruit-on-the-Bottom yogurt, using the Sweetened Plain. With this maker, you DO still have to heat the milk and then let it cool before doing anything else - it *does not* heat it for you. Once the milk has cooled to the right temperature, I added some local honey and a room temperature container of plain Greek yogurt. Then I had some fun and did a little bit of...

Yogurt maker with timer is great.
I searched for a few days online and read a lot of reviews before purchasing the T-fal yogurt maker. The timer was a big selling point for me and I like the appearance. It had a lot of good reviews. The only thing I would change is the amount of yogurt start they recomend in the recipe. I have made yogurt for 31 years. I wore out two Salton yogurt makers. I followed the recipe included with the yogurt maker and my first three batches in this one turned out grainey. (They suggest 6 oz of yogurt for a starter). I went back to using 2 tablespoons like I have done for many years and the yogurt was perfect. I need to order extra jars because my family eats it up so fast.

Wow!
Love this yogurt maker. The glass bottles are fantastic. I wasn't able to use the recipe in the book because our family is lactose and soy intolerant, but I found wonderful recipes online. Aside from that, this yogurt maker is amazing. So easy to use. Just prepare the yogurt recipe, fill the jars, turn on the power, set the timer and relax. I usually cook my yogurt throughout the day and put it in the fridge overnight to enjoy the next morning. BEST Coconut milk yogurt EVER! I am not kidding. I LOVE this thing.

Bissell Turbo Brush (2036652)

A great addition
purchased this to use with the Big Green Deep Cleaning Machine. A similar tool came with the cleaner but it doesn't have a rotating beater brush. this Turbo brush does an excellent job in the nooks and crannies where the Big machine can't go (especially in our RV). A constant whistling noise while the brush was in use became a little annoying, but a piece of tape on the outside of the little hole on top of the brush where it attaches to the hose took care of that. Seems to be well made and sturdy, and it isn't real expensive so it's very much worth of your consideration if you have, or are going to buy the carpet cleaning machine

Great - but I wish the brush rotated faster
This brush is great. Much better than the basic manual brush on the end of the Green Machine. I just with that the brush was a little more aggressive. It could have been geared to rotate much faster...at least I think that would have made the product better. Also, don't rinse this off in the sink and get the entire thing wet. I did this, and thought I broke it...the brush wouldn't rotate when it was that wet. After it dried out it was just fine. But...just because it is a product that is meant to work in and around moisture DON"T IMMURSE THIS IN WATER.

Not worth it
The Good
A little wider than the base brush

The Bad
Little spinning power / slow spin on the brushes
easy to accidentally bump the slider toggle between brush and vacuum
no deep clean

Overall
I'll admit it - I bought this attachment for my little green pro heat because it sounded cool and that it would let me be lazy - why scrub when you can have a power attachment? This product didn't deliver. The spinning brushes have little power, so if you push down to get a deep clean the brushes slow down or stop spinning altogether, you can't really scrub because the brushes spin forward to back, so you can't scrub side to side or in circular motions. It's really easy to bump the slide button on the top and suction when trying to scrub or vice-versa. the only thing going for this is that it's slightly wider than the original attachment so you get a little more area at once. Given this is used with a small "spot cleaner" carpet shampooer, it's just...

Neato XV-11 All Floor Robotic Vacuum System

I am now a believer in robotic vacuums!
For months, no years, my wife has been asking for a robotic vacuum. She does most of the house work and I do most of the fixing. I have followed the progress of the Roomba and decided to have another in depth look at the reviews and how it performed to date. What follows is NOT a Roomba/Neato comparison. I have never owned a Roomba nor do I think I ever will, but who knows. I purchased a Neato Robotics XV-11 about four weeks ago. What follows is a detailed look at what the Neato XV-11 is and how it performs. I will try to be as objective as possible and share my journey of how I decided which robot vacuum to buy.

First, a bit about me. I am an avid Amazon buyer and use them heavily for both personal and work related purchases. They are simply the best at the online experience and I typically only purchase items that they ship. They have the best pricing on a regular basis and ship promptly with a great online experience. I have only had two issues with Amazon and...

Very efficient & effective robot
I really like this robotic vacuum. It cleans a ridiculous amount of pet hair and dust from my carpet! I used a Roomba, which was fairly good but the drawback was it couldn't navigate to other rooms and back as well as the Neato does. The other drawback was it couldn't figure out how to get onto area carpets without the spinning brush on the front getting stuck. For the Neato, this is no problem at all. Instead of bouncing all around looking for light houses it will detect doorways and move from room to room in a more logical fashion.

The suction and cleaning ability is amazing. I would place the suction power closer to an actual upright vacuum. The noise level is a bit quieter than an upright and maybe a little louder than the whine of a Roomba. There is significantly less bumping, which overall, makes the Neato quieter. It still bumps into things (mostly table legs) from time to time but nowhere near as hard or as frequent.

Battery life is adequate. About an...

Neato is better than Roomba - I have had 6 different Roombas so I know
I have had the Neato vacuum robot for a few weeks now and I am just now getting the time to write a review. I don't write reviews for everything I buy just the things I think people need to be warned about or things I think people should really buy.

Compared to Roombas
I have owned 6 different Roombas starting with the original red one. The thing about Roombas is they don't really know where they are or where they are going they just start going and when they come to a wall or furniture they change course. They travel in a pattern that is designed to cover the whole room but is some cases where there is an odd shaped room or furniture in the room they can end up going around in the same spot and not covering all areas evenly. Also the pattern that is left on the carpet looks like someone gave a monkey a vacuum and let it loose as there are lines going everywhere. Roombas don't always get all the rooms in the house either and if they do get into a remote area of the...

LG Kompressor Canister PetCare Plus Vacuum Cleaner LcV900B

Simply wonderful
When I had to purchase a new vacuum cleaner I spent hours researching online in addition to a couple of hours using demonstration models at local stores.

The LG was by far the best vacuum I have ever used. I tried out vacuums from Dyson, Hoover, Eureka, Bissel, and Electrolux. The Dyson was the only one that came close in comparison. The LG has as much suction as the Dyson, but is better designed and much quiter. The Kompressor technology really works (can vacuum the whole house without having to stop to empty the dust bin). We have two dogs, three kids in a 2000 square foot home with three levels (two carpeted, one with hardwood and tile). This vacuum excels in picking up dog hair off carpet, and the hard floor attachment works perfectly. The controls on the handle are brilliant. Unlike the Dyson canister the brush roll is motorized and can be turned off with the handle controls, as can Max and Min suction (Min is used for dusting curtains and drapes). The build...

Great Features - Poor Reliability
Review after using it for two weeks every other day: ***** (5 stars)
The vacuum is easy to handle, makes very little noise, the kids can sleep, watch TV, or play while we are vacuuming.
The compressing part of the dust bin works great. It compresses all the dust together in little patties, so you do not have particles of dirt flying around in the dust bin and makes it very easy to clean. The vacuum has great suction, both on tile and rugs in our 3300 sq feet house. Very happy with the product!!!!

Review update after using it for 14 months: *** (three stars)
Features are excellent, still very quiet, dust bin very easy to clean, the fine filter still looks brand new due to the good design of the dust compressing in the big dust bin.
However, after using the vacuum for three months, the controls in the handle stopped working and there was no way to start the vacuum as there was no other switch. We had to ship it out of state (we live in Florida), it took...

SPEECHLESS!
Being speechless is definitely not one of my traits, and anyone who knows me can certainly attest to that. I just (10 minutes ago) opened the package that arrived last night and couldn't resist to test this product since all the reviews were stellar. About 7 minutes of vacuuming (my already freshly vacuumed - with Dyson Animal - carpets) and I was astounded by the amount of dirt (the cansiter was practically full) that gathered in the canister. After being thoroughly disgusted by the fact that my pride and joy home which is always spotless (I vacuum and dust everyday) was infact NOT THAT spotless, I sat down to write this review which is the first review I have ever written in my life. This product absolutely warrants a glowing 5 star review, as it is 100% what it is advertised to be. It is easy to put together, is easy to navigate, goes under my very low furniture and is endowed with an impressive suction power, so much so that it almost propells itself on the carpet. It even...

Aqua-Pure AP717 Drinking Water System Filter with Triple Action Filtration

Not as Easy As I Thought
I put this in line with my Ice maker, using screw on tubing. I had to go out and by special ends, the ones that come with it is for platic or copper tubing only...Cubes taste good though, it is doing its job...

Replacement Filter for Refrigerator Icemaker
I purchased the Aqua-Pure AP717 to replace the Aqua-Pure AP717 filter attached to my refrigerator icemaker. The previous filter worked great so I expect the same from the replacement filter. I followed the installation instructions and had no problems with the installation.

Water filter
We drink well water at our NC home in the mountains. This filter really freshens it up and makes it taste nice and crisp. YUM!

HONEYWELL/ENVIRACAIRE HAC-504 Replacement Filter Pad

unhealthy
Is there anywhere to buy the old filters without the blue wrapping.

I have used Honeywell Humidifiers for many years and never had the smell / mold problem you do with these filters, they are downright unhealthy.

I tried to rate these zero stars they are that bad but the system would not let me.

Please go back to the old filters

IT SUCKS!
Bought a bunch of these replacement filters (10, I believe) for my Honeywell 2000 series humidifier.
This "enviracaire" blue wrapping was a new thing for me. HONEYWELL/ENVIRACAIRE HAC-504 Replacement Filter Pad Never seen it before, but figured what the heck, maybe it's new technology & will improve the filter's capability.

WRONG!!

My experience has been just the opposite. 1) It doesn't last as long, working only 2-4 weeks before it's efficacy diminishes, whereas the 'older' filters with the plastic/wire mesh would easily last 3-4 months, sometimes longer depending on use. 2) Using the old filters, I would often take them out after some heavy use, clean them, and descale them before continuing to use them. Only after months of use & hard build-up would they lose their efffectiveness & need to be changed. With these "enviracaire" filters the build up isn't heavy at all, it maybe...

Original Honeywell filter for much less the price in the retail store. Works for me.

Pelonis Heater/Fan

Great compact heater for the price!
I have central heat, but for whatever reason by the time the air gets to the vents in my room, it's cold and my infant son sleeps in the room with me so I need it warm. The heater I was using (Lasko 6410 Designer Series Oscillating Ceramic Heater) only adjusts the thermostat in 5 degree increments but 70 let the room get to about 65 before it kicked on and heated the room to around 80 if I picked 75, so there was no happy medium.

From all the heaters I've looked at and the ones we have in the house (2 different models of Lasko oscillating ceramic heaters, which are digitally programmable but have annoying beeps, only have 1500w and 900w settings, no fan only setting, and cost almost twice as much), this is the best value. I personally do prefer a ceramic heater (I think they're safer and faster at heating a room), but I gave this one a try even though it's a fan-forced model because Pelonis is...

2nd time purchase
This fan replaced my old Pelonis fan that finally died after ten years or so. I like that it has three heat settings and an adjustable fan. The internal thermostat will kick it off when it reaches that stage. If it gets knocked off the surface that it's sitting on, it will cut off. It provides the instant direct heat that I wanted. It keeps my home office nice a toasty without me having to warm up the whole house by turning the main thermostat up. I would buy this fan again and again and again.

Great compact heater
This is a great product. I have 2 Pelonis heaters. This one operates very quietly and has the advantage of using lower wattage settings than other similar heaters. Low operates at 600 watts which is the reason I bought this heater. It also has a thermostat which is nice. It doesn't smell like many ceramic heaters when they heat up. It produces uniform heat and doesn't blow really hard (the fan speed isn't really high).

Black & Decker CHV1410/CHV1510 Vac OEM Pre-Filter # 90558115

Description isnt complete
I felt the description wasn't totally complete because not only do you receive the hard plastic pre-filter but you also get a "fabric" filer included with it.

I guess I should have realized that because of the price and the picture but I wasn't totally sure.

Overall I am very happy with the product, fit perfectly and works like a champ.

Black & Decker CHV1410/CHV1510 Pre-Filter
I bought this as an extra pre-filter for my Black & Decker CHV1510 Dustbuster. This is the right pre-filter for this model hand vac.

This is a good bargain, great price, and works perfectly on my Black & Decker CHV1210 Dustbuster
I purchased the Black & Decker CHV1210 Dustbuster a few days back but found that the only thing it came with was the cloth filter (part#VF110) but nothing to protect it from debris beating on it. I also noticed that this cloth filter had notches in it as if something should fit over it. These notches seemed to also allow air, dirt and debris to bypass the filter and get directly into the motor which I would imagine over time, maybe a short time if heavily used, would damage the motor. I did some investigating and found that the Dustbuster model CHV1410 uses the same cloth filter but also comes with a hard plastic pre-filter to keep large debric and stuff from damaging the cloth filter under it. I noticed that it fit over the cloth part#VF110. I looked online and found the manufacturer sold the pre-filter but by the time you ordered it, which didn't come with a cloth filter, you were paying almost $15.00. I found this one here in Amazon, ordered it and it works great. Not only does it...

Tribest Humio 2 Humidifier HU1020 w/ Night Lamp & Aroma Oil Compartment

Update - Now have two units and no issues -
The cool mist humidifier has two levels of output and the aroma oil compartment works well. I make sure the cap is off when not in use or I turn it off and empty the water compartment when done. The only complaint I have is cleaning the water compartment: I follow the instructions but black spots have appeared inside at the bottom of the water compartment and they do not come out following the instructions; it is very difficult to clean no matter how inventive you get with brushes. Otherwise this is a great product.

Update: I did not have any further problems with black spots - wonder if somehow the original purchase may have been a return that had been used and not completely dried out. Anyway, I purchased another one, so now have two and have absolutely no problems with either since the initial cleaning of the first one. Oh, btw, baking soda is a great way to clean mold and does not have the effects of bleach.

Highly recommend
Even though I didn't buy this product from amazon, I wanted to write a review because I was so impressed with this product.
I rinsed it, put 3 drops of lavender oil that came with it in the sponge compartment, filled it & plugged it in.
Instantly my room felt like a spa. Calming lavender aroma with soothing lights that change color & a nice mist. U can use it only as a humidifier, night light, or both. I have owned 4 other humidifiers & this is by far my fave. I did a lot of research before I ordered it & highly recommend. It's also attractive and compact. Fits anywhere. if u are a natural, "green" person like me & like fragrances but not all the chemicals that come with them, & like to use a humidifier, then this machine is for you! You won't be sorry. I am in love.

Humidifies fast!
Works really well, I recommend it for night-use only since the tank only lasts about 9-10 hours in high setting, 11-12 hours in low. It is powerful that it quickly raises humidity in an average 12ftx12ft room to 50% rH in about 2-3 hours. The cleaning routine is a lot easier, about once every 2-3 weeks if you let the unit dry out upside down on a towel after use each morning. Otherwise, if you keep it loaded with water you need the regular cleaning routine with vinegar and Hydrogen Peroxide once a week. Yes, cleaning is not easy, but I have yet to find a unit as nice that is also easy to clean. You will not get white dust and make cleaning a lot easier if you do not use regular tap water. I have used this water treatment with good results BestAir 3US-6 Ultratreat Ultrasonic/Vaporizer Water Treatment 32 oz. . For even easier cleaning use RO or distilled water.

Chef's Choice 810 Gourmet Egg Cooker

Works great!
I got this egg cooker about a week and a half ago and have used it several times with great success. The poached eggs were great and my husband loved the Eggs Benedict I made for him -- it was really easy and I even forgot to spray the insert with Pam first (and the eggs came out ok).

My son loves the soft-boiled eggs,as do I. They are so easy to make, we have had them a lot. Because they're so hot when they're done, I flip the lid over, put it in the sink with cold/ice water, and with an oven mitt or tongs, put the eggs in the lid. The water drains slowly through the steamhole when the lid is flipped, and this cools the eggs down enough to handle but they're still nice & warm inside.

I tried making hard-boiled eggs last night, and just put them in the refrigerator when they were done so I could make egg salad this morning. While my husband hasn't had it yet, everything looked fine although the yolks were slightly greenish on the outside, which is why I'm giving...

There is a difference between boiled and steamed
I never thought I would be praising the virtues of an egg cooker until I had an egg that had been steamed. Wow, what a difference. Even cooked to the hard state, both the white and yolk are melt in your mouth soft and tender. A completely different texture than you get with boiling. The steamed eggs are also easy to peel and this cooker doesn't require piercing the shell, like others do. Once you've steam eggs, you won't ever want to go back to boiling them.

Happy with this product
After reading many reviews on 4 brands of egg cookers, I chose this one. Though, some of the reviews on this product had me sceptical of purchasing it. Such as people saying this cooker leaked water on their counter, another complaining about being struck by the steam upon lifting the lid, ect...
When I recieved the egg cooker, after opening the box, before I even unpacked the cooker, I picked up the paperwork enclosed and sat down and read the directions. I washed up the cooker and proceeded to make 7 hard boiled eggs. No water ran on my counter, No steam struck me when I removed the lid. So, I disregard the negative comments made about this egg cooker and give it 5 stars. As we learned in elementary school, Always Read The Directions!!!!!

Poor replacement part
We bought this cord to replace the one that got lost while the fryer was in storeage. The magnet's on the cord does not keep it attached to the fryer. Look else where for a replacement cord, as this one is pretty useless.

This cord is great. It is longer than the original cord and now I can put my Fry Daddy out from under the cabinet to cook in it and that is definately a good thing.

Westinghouse Lighting 7214100 Harmony Two-Light 48-Inch Two-Blade Indoor Ceiling Fan, Brushed Nickel with Opal Frosted Glass

Looks great, but has flaws
First the positives:
I was really pleased with the finished look after installation of this light. Very attractive and stylish and just the finishing touch I was looking for in our new master bath. We have a 13' ceiling and just as the other reviewers stated, I was impressed with the amount of air that just the two blades moved.

Now for the not so great stuff:
I found the light to be very dim and ineffective. It is so dim, in fact, that I sometimes leave it on as a nightlight when we have guests. Fortunately, we wanted this fixture for the fan more than the light so that was not so much an issue, but others may feel differently. The real disappointment came when after only an hours run time, the fan developed a loud and obnoxious clicking noise that it makes with every revolution. We had our contractor back out to check it and he confirmed that the problem lies within the fan itself and is not an installer error. Now we have to figure out how to either...

Great fan with great modern look and easy install!
This was my first ceiling fan purchase and install. I knew I had wanted this fan for my house for the last year or more. I have been comparing this one (which is the Home Depot version) to the Allen Roth Santa Ana (the Lowes version). Both look almost identical with the two fan blades except for a few differences which I will point out to help other buyers make a decision on what they are looking for...

1. This fan (the Harmony) has 2 connection points per blade compared to 1 on the Santa Ana. Not sure if this makes any difference but the overall sturdiness and build quality of the Harmony seems very good and the motor is very quiet. Some reviews state there are some quality issues with the Santa Ana

2. The Harmony uses pull chains to turn on and off the light and adjust the speeds of the fan compared to a wireless remote on the Santa Ana. I wanted the pull chains since I was wiring this up to wall switches to control the on/off operation of the fan and...

GREAT BUY!
I read the reviews, and was a little skeptical but I really liked the style so I purchased it. I'm really glad that I did. This fan is sooooo quiet that you don't know that it even on! The style goes great with my modern furnishings and the light although not extremely bright, offers a nice light for my family room without being overpowering and glaring. I would definitely recommend this fixture especially if the style is to you liking!

Cuisipro Donvier Yogurt Cheese Maker

If you can use a spoon - you can make yogurt cheese...
So, I stole it from the Yo-cheese folks - I bought their cookbook!

This is the simplest and best device for making yogurt cheese. It makes yogurt "cream" in 2 hours, and yogurt cheese stiff enough to make a cheesecake overnight.

A few details. If you fill the device full of yogurt, you need to dump the whey after about 1/2 hour as it gets full. After you have drained the yogurt, empty it by up-ending it into a bowl with a larger mouth than the device, otherwise you waste some of the cheese scraping it out with a spoon.

I use the yogurt cheese to extend mayonaise and sour cream. I've made a lovely low-fat cheesecake with it, mixing it it 2/1 ratio with neufchatel cheese. I have used it in white sauces, and it makes them creamy and yummy!

We bought this to incorporate yogurt cheese into our diet to got lower fat and reduce saturated fat because of cholesterol concerns. It's a great device and it's never not in use at our house!

Delicious yogurt cheese
This makes a compact pyramid of tasty yogurt cheese or "laban." This is simply the yogurt curd with the watery portion removed. A lump of this cheese, sweetened with a touch of powdered sugar and served with strawberries is a low-fat dessert if you use non-fat yogurt. The cheese also works as a sour-cream substitute. You can even make "coeur a la creme" with it. This works better than cheesecloth and colander or sieve. If you like yogurt cheese or are on a low-fat diet, this is a handy thing to have.

Yum - Perfect Yogurt Cheese in a Few Hours
After purchasing Donvier's yogurt maker, I thought this cheese maker would help me turn my softer yogurt into something thicker, a facsimile of the yogurt I tasted in Turkey and Greece. I was right -- after making my own preservative and additive free yogurt in my Donvier yogurt maker, I simply poured all eight containers into the compact cheesemaker, closed the lid and let it stay overnight in the refrigerator. Voila, the next morning, I had a perfectly creamy spread to put on my whole grain toast. I used Total Greek yogurt as my starter, so my yogurt very nearly reached the perfection I have been seeking: creamy, tart and no added sugar.

If you are a food perfectionist or simply do not like to buy any product loaded with corn syrup or any of the other usual suspects commonly used by manufacturers to up the taste for the general public, you will find purchasing the Donvier yogurt and cheese maker well worth the price.

Eureka DCF-16 Foam Filter 4 Pack

Works great and arrived quickly
Great, cheap replacement that fit my Eureka upright perfectly. (Used Eureka's manufacturer website to verify DCF-16 foam filters was the right model for my Altima vacuum). Shipping was free and product came in 1-2 days to boot!

Good replacements for something you can't even find in the store any more!
I bought these here because I can't even find them in the store anymore. I only received the vacuum last Christmas. I went to the actual eureka website and it was the same price for 2 of these same filters. Clearly it was a better deal here. They Ship quick. Thank you, They work great!

This is another great buy.
These little filters are the main item for this vac. All is as it was said to be. Just drop them it, and away you go. You do have to cut slits for them to work, what the heck, thats all you have to do.

Genuine Electrolux Intensity Vacuum Bag EL206A - 6 bags, 1 motor filter

This is the bags for your Intensity Vacuum.
I compared prices as to where I should buy the bags for this vacuum. Other than buying from the Amazon Marketplace Sellers which seems to be less than a dollar, not including shipping, Amazon is the cheapest place with free shipping if you throw other stuff in your cart to make $25.00 to qualify for the free shipping. I did that. I buy items from Amazon anyway and I threw in the bags. Works out great.

I just got them in the mail pretty quickly and they are just right for the vacuum. Unfortuately the bags don't last long. The vacuum fills it up pretty quickly.

Perfect Fit
A reasonable price for the brand-name item so it fits my vacuum and my budget just right. Free shipping helped too!

Electrolux Intensity
I read all of the reviews prior to the purchase of the Intensity, some were negative. The cord is shorter than some cleaners but I don't consider it a negative. My house is 1800 sq ft and I have vaccuumed it at least five times without having to change the bag. I was concerned that it was not picking up like my Fantom canaster bagless cleaner(which I love) but after I vaccuumed with the the Electrolux, I then went over the same areas with my Fantom and there wasn't anything left to pick up. It is extremely well made, a little difficult to maneuver on carpet but I love it, infact, I bought another one just to have as a spare.

Hoover SteamVac Bare Floor Cleaning Attachment 48417008 (Old # 48417003)

Might as well use a mop
I ordered this part because I already had the Hoover SteamVac for our carpets and wanted to see how it did on the tile flooring in the kitchen. It took a couple minutes to get snapped on to the vacuum correctly, but is otherwise easy to use and clean afterwards. From what I could tell, it cleaned the floor probably as well as a regular mop, but it took about three times as long (once over with the solution, then a couple more times to suck up all the water, not to mention the maneuverability is a pain!) The SteamVac itself is great, but I wouldn't recommend the bare floor attachment, unless you have a lot of extra time to kill.

Make sure you install it correctly
This attachment dramatically improves the performance of the Steam Vac on bare floors. I think that people that rate it low are not putting it correctly onto the machine. It doesn't snap on in one motion but rather it slides on in a circular motion. You have to click it into place all the way, there are two clicks that occur BEFORE you reach the full on position. When installed correctly, you should not see any holes when viewed from above.

I have cleaned wood floors and tiled floors and the attachment leaves less water behind than a mop does. Be careful about popped nails in the floor as it will damage the rubber squeegee on the attachment.

Confucious say: Don't use cannon to kill mosquito.
The Hoover SteamVac is an amazing carpet cleaner, but it is NOT the best choice for hard floors. It's basically just a rubber mesh wrapped around an oblong piece of black plastic. It just dumps soapy water on the floor, then vacuums half of that water back up.

Mr. Heater 35,000 BTU Propane Forced-Air Heater #MH35FA

It's great for the price
It's a bit loud and I wish there was a setting to control the amount of heat (it's either full on or off) but for the money it can't be beat. I have a 2 car garage shop and it will make the room warm within about 20 minutes.

PERFECT - I have no complaints
The heater arrived in picture-perfect condition two days after I ordered it. Within five minutes, after UPS left, I had it set up and making heat. It has worked flawlessly for several days now. Starts right up every time and heats up my two-car garage in about twenty minutes. Yes, it is a little noisy, but that is characteristic of these types of heaters.

I highly recommend this heater. For the price, you can't beat it...

Shop-vac 903-40-00 HEPA Cleanstream® Filter

Worth the money if you wash your filter frequently
I normally get the blue filters, completely clog and wash them out once a week. Comparatively, this one is much easier to wash out as it has some sort of teflon-like coating. It doesn't look as terrible afterwards either. Been through three washes and still looks new, I usually get 6-8 out of the blue ones. Will update in a few months with my findings.

7/1 - it's still looking pretty good, if a bit yellowish. Still works like new, has been washed weekly since arrival. The teflon coating is starting to peel and flake as of last week. Might be because I leave it in the sun to dry, I'm not sure. Will continue to use it until it can't perform, definitely got my money's worth out of it. Normally by week 6 on the blue ones I would notice a noise difference in the motor of my shop vac due to it having to work harder to pull air through the filter. I have not yet noticed it on this one.

9/30/10 - Still using it, still washing it weekly, it'll probably need...

Good for dry pickup, not so good for liquids
I'd suggest the cheaper, standard dry-only HEPA filter in place of this one, unless you occasionally suck up damp stuff or small amounts of liquid. This filter is not a good choice for wet applications. I also find that this filter is no easier to clean than any other reuseable cartridge filter. It's rinseable but that sounds better than it works in practice.

If you are faced with sucking up gallons of liquid, this filter doesn't work well. Unless the liquid is very clean, the filter clogs every few minutes. If I'm picking up a lot of liquid, I swap the good ol' foam sleeve back on.

This filter does work well for dry pickup. No more dusty exhaust, a huge improvement over the standard disc filters. However, it's no better than the standard HEPA filter in this regard.

Someone once suggested using an old-fashioned disc filter over the HEPA filter if you use it as a dust collector in a wood shop. I find this to be a very good combination. The disc filter...

CleanStream replacement filter cartridge for Shop-
I purchased this item to be used in a Shop-Vac that removes chips and wood dust from woodworking machines. The claim was that, vacuumed particles would simply fall off the filter

after the power was shut off. I hoped that I could eliminate the expense of filter bags. NOT SO. The filter quickly became clogged and I had to clean it frequently in order to maintain the full flow of air through the vacuum. I have since added the filter bags and have eliminated the filter maintenance problem until the bag is full.

I'm sure that the CleanStream is more efficient than the original filter as far as removing the finer particles from the exhaust air. I would have given the item a 5 if it had met my expectations.

Magic Bullet Deluxe 25 pc Set Blender Mixer

Great product - short lifespan
I love using the Magic Bullet for the reasons listed on this site - mainly convenience of use and cleanup. Here is the catch, however. My first Magic Bullet lasted about 6 months with daily usage. I thought that the short lifespan was a fluke, so I bought another Magic Bullet. The second one lasted about two months with daily usage. Daily usage was making smoothies and grinding cheese, ice, nuts - nothing unusual, according to the sales pitch.

Believe it or not, I'm looking to buy a third Magic Bullet because of the convenience (it literally cleans up in seconds vs. a blender because the blade is easier to get at), but now I know that I'm only going to have it for a short time.

Not Magic, but still Cool - Super Easy to Clean!
Of course it doesn't work exactly like the informercial. It can't really defy the laws of physics (or cooking), but it's great at what it does do (chop and blend small amounts of things), and it's super easy to clean (my favorite part, a blender that isn't a huge hassle clean!). I also like that it isn't at all bulky like a full size blender. I can just leave the base out on the counter, and all the parts and accessories fit into one drawer. I've had mine for only a few days and I've been using it several times a day already for smoothies, coffee drinks and egg dishes.

A couple of warnings, though...

To get the most out of this product you need to read the manual (seriously, I don't normally read the manuals for products I buy, but this one is extremely useful). A lot of the concerns that I've seen in the reviews I've read are adressed there, and there's lots of tips about little things you can do to get the bullet to work better (which blade to use for different...

pretty nice
Small, compact, and versitle. I think it is a great product and pretty affordable.

One note: the blades will rust slightly if you don't turn them upside down in the dishwasher. So just make sure the blades are facing towards the floor when you run them through the dishwasher.

I am vacuuming today and stretched out the hose to get the corners and noticed a LONG tear in the hose. As I raised it to inspect it further the hose continued to tear right before my eyes. Now it is completely unusable after only 3 months of normal use. I am really angry about this but the return window was for Jan 31. Do NOT buy this item.

seems thin
Just got it hooked up and it seems thinner than the original Dyson hose, we'll see how long it lasts before it tears. The most frustrating ordeal was getting it hooked up to the vacuum, the sellers did NOT include instructions and I couldn't find them anywhere on the internet. We "played around" with it long enough and finally made it work, BTW it's not straightforward or easy on a Dyson dc17. Did not feel good "guessing" how to do things with a $600 vacuum. I will by direct from Dyson next time.

Works like a champ
the old hose had some rips in it and it was just a snap snap to get us going... have been using it for a few weeks... good buy

Perfect Fit
This is the 2nd drawer that I have ordered and they work perfect with my Kenmore side by side refrigerator.

lot cheaper than sears direct
I finally got fed up with this crisper dropping out of the refrigerator as a result of being broken. I looked it up on sears website, too expensive. Went to Amazon, found price reasonable, ordered it,and it fit perfectly.
Sorry about that, Sears.

YES! THANK YOU!
I have a 3 yr old and 1 yr old that used this crisper as a stepping stool until it broke. I was so happy to find a replacement that fit perfectly Thank You!

Cuisinart CPT-420 Touch to Toast Leverless 2-Slice Toaster

not perfect, but very close
I've owned more toasters over the years than I can count. I've tried low-end, high-end, and in-between. My most recent one was OK when it arrived--a stainless steel Oster 2-slice toaster--but it went downhill fast. I often do single slices of toast, and it's hard to find a toaster that can do a good job of only one slice. Also, the Oster had ridges around the slots, where crumbs got caught, and it was hard to clean them out. It had an extremely short cord too, and after about a year, it started burning one side and not toasting the other. The bagel setting didn't work either. Time to try another toaster!

I decided on this Cuisinart one. The other toaster I was considering was a Kitchen Aid (both of these brands seem trustworthy to me), but I decided against that one, because reviewers said the buzzer that warns when the toast is finished is very loud. That sounds like a small thing, but the complaints were vigorous, and it seemed to me that breakfast is not a time...

Fantastic toaster!
I bought this toaster a few months ago and it worked great right from the start. At first I was concerned because I thought the elements were not all working. Boy was I wrong! I used the factory setting of 4 and it put the perfect golden brown toast evenly on the bread. I have used it many times and the toast comes out perfectly every time. I highly recommend this toaster!

Excellent Toaster and Conversation Piece
It may seem odd but I bought this for my wife on Valentine's Day and it was one of her favorite Valentine's Day gifts ever. It happens after 30 years. It might have helped that 1) I saw her looking at toasters in Target, 2) I gave her roses and took her to dinner too. The latter cost as much as the toaster, but it's the toaster she still raves about.

Everyone who sees it is interested and impressed. It's everything the product description says and it makes good toast and frozen waffles too.

KNOW THIS!
1. It takes about 20 times toasting empty on the max setting of '7' to remove the new metal smell & taste. Maybe it only takes 10, but after I tasted it the first time I didn't try again until 20 burn-ins. I called customer support and they said to use it on the max setting about 10-15 times with no bread.

2. After the 20x of toasting without toast... it takes a little experimenting to find the toasting level you like, and one number-level makes a...

Supco WF286 Kenmore Refrigerator Water Filter Replacement

Purge a Few Gallons Before Drinking
Overall very happy with this product. Replaced a more expensive Sears (Kenmore) brand filter. Fit perfectly. Instructions are a little sparse but then again there's not much to this. Both this brand and the Kenmore brand recommend purging a few gallons of water through the system before use. With the Kenmore filters I don't recall too much debris in the first batch of water. With the Supco filter the first gallon was very cloudy grey. I believe this is loose charcoal from the filter. Either way, the water cleared up very quickly and quality now seems great. Satisfied customer.

Kenmore replacemant filter
The filter installs easily and works pretty good. It seems like the water tastes better with the kenmore brand though , but these cost less.

awesome alternative
I chose this item because we do not have $45 for the brand name. Works great, just like the brand name! I will be stocking up on these in the future

Hoover TwinTank Disinfecting Handheld Steam Cleaner - WH20100

Amazing what some steam can do!
There has been this stain on my vinyl floor for the last several years. No amount of mopping, scrubbing or chemicals have been able to get it completely removed. To this day I still have no idea where this stubborn stain had come from. After receiving this product I thought, "If this can get that stupid stain out, I'll give it a 5 star review." So to work I went.

At first I used the extender attachment on the floor (along with the cleaner that came with the product), set it to high clean, blasted it for several minutes, wiped it with a rag and the stain didn't budge. I was about to call it quits but for the sake of the review I thought, "What the heck... I'll give the small plastic brush attachment a shot" but had little expectation after that. The plastic (not metal) brush in conjunction with the steam removed the stain with just a little elbow grease. I was floored (hehe)! I no longer have to hide the stain with an awkwardly placed appliance. Also shocking, my...

Finally able to get areas clean I wasn't able to before

Good for a handheld steamer; couple of irritating quirks however
I've been using steam cleaners for several years, both hand-held and canister. While I generally prefer canister models, this is one of the few handheld models I've tried that actually performs well.

Hoover offers a unique feature in that there's a dispensing system so you can add a Hoover-brand disinfectant cleaner (as expected, the user's manual states that no other brand other than Hoover cleaners can be used). There's a control knob that meters out how much cleaner is dispensed. Granted, this feature is the opposite of why some people use steam cleaners -- the ability to clean WITHOUT using chemicals. But, using the chemical is optional, and the unit will function just fine as a plain steamer.

There are several pros to this model:

> Temperature is the best of any handheld unit I've tried: consistently 150 to 160 F at the tip without any attachments; 125 to 130 at the tip when using the extension hose. Pretty good for such a little guy!

Thermal Cut Out Kit for Whirlpool Sears 3399848, 279816

Great bang for the buck
I have a Sears dryer model, and when I needed to replace this part, I checked the Sears website for the parts I needed. For one third of the price at Sears, I could even afford to make mistakes and still come up ahead by buying at Amazon.

After replacing just one of the two parts, and have it burn up again in about a week, I realized there was an *orange tag* near the part slot, advising to *always* replace both parts at the same time. So I bought the same kit again, and replaced both parts, as advised.

I also read that this part can burn out if the output duct is clogged by too much lint, so I also cleaned up the output duct when installing the second kit. It has been two weeks now and the machine still works well. I am a happy customer.

Great product. Arrived on time
I needed the thermal cut out when our Whirlpool dryer broke down. The order came in a small package. We were able to get the dryer back in action.

Another Great parts wholeseller
This part will work on about 90 percent of Whirlpool products which includes, Roper, Estate, Kenmore and others. You might have to use the included jumpers to get it work but it is all here at half the price and a savings of at least 80.00 on a house call.

KRUPS XP160050 Coffee Maker and Espresso Machine Combination, Black

Far better than I expected
Having read comments about this machine smelling like plastic I was worried that the machine would be inferior. But the machine is actually good.

Alas, I found that running a couple cycles of just water with a teaspoon of plain vinegar got rid of the smell.

They even note on page 7 of the instruction booklet 'To remove any residue from production which may rest in the appliance run the machine through one or two cycles with water only. Wash ALL loose parts in warm soapy water, rinse thoroughly and dry'. This is repeated on page 9 under the 'Preparing Coffee' section. How many people who are giving this machine poor marks did what the instructions said??????

Love how the drip grate under removes easily for cleaning. The clock is easy to set. Like that the coffee area holds a reusable cone filter since I dislike using paper filters. Appreciate the clean lines which also make for cleaning the machine easy.

The added bonus for me is it fits on...

Nice Combo
I think this is a nice coffee maker - but there are a few things that are a bit strange. The instructions are written in such a way that I would bet a non-English speaker wrote it. If you are trying to use the program setting you hit the coffee button once. This turns on a red light. If you want it to brew right away you hit the button twice and a green light comes on.

There is no filter for water (which is okay - but should be noted).

Also, when using the espresso machine they tell you to use all the water for the espresso and then add more water for the steamer. I find that this is not necessary.

The heating element only heats the glass pot for 2 hours. FYI.

Overall I like this combo and the coffee maker.

Great Expresso Machine
This Espresso maker is so much better than the older model. It is important to read the instructions as they are a little different than the previous model. The milk foams beautifully and the coffee it makes is excellent. Persistence pays. I had purchased the previous models which did not work properly. I called Krups and they had me send it to repair which I did. Repair was unable to do anything. Krups then sent me the current model which works very well. The process of all this was simple and cost me nothing but a little time.KRUPS XP160050 Coffee Maker and Espresso Machine Combination, Black
