Oster 6026 Blend-N- Go Cup

Decent, conveniant.
I bought an "oster blend-n-go" cup from amazon about 2 years ago it was awesome. When I ordered this one I thought it was the same one.....it isn't. The plastic is thin and very flexible, so it flexes a little bit when blending ice for smoothies. It does a poor job crushing ice compared to my other blend-n-go cup. It doesn't leak, has good measurements, but I wish it was the thicker more durable plastic.

Perfect for individual servings
If you tend to want to blend single-serving drinks/smoothies and don't want the trouble of cleaning the full-size blender, lid, etc, then this cup really is the perfect addition to your (and my!) Oster blender. I was concerned about the allegedly "flimsy" plastic mentioned in other reviews, so I checked it out at my local Walmart first in person, was satisfied, and went ahead and got it. It's not a hard plastic like the shielding over airplane windows, but it's definitely not "flimsy" at all! Maybe a fair comparison would be the original, really tough Tupperware thickness, though even that I can bend a little bit, and this cup I cannot. It's really sturdy, so don't let that idea deter you. I admit that I haven't used the lid for travel purposes yet and so can't comment, but the blade, rubber gasket, and cup all fit perfectly together, blend beautifully, and then I just pop off the blade and gasket, pop in a straw, and I'm set! Washed daily in the dishwasher with no problems several...

Excellent Cup
I think this is a great cup. The other reviews worried me that the plastic would be "flimsy," but I didn't find this to be the case. I don't know if Oster changed the material (it looks like the same translucent plastic) but I can't even get the cup to bend if I squeeze it hard with both hands. The smoothies I make in this cup are just as good as those I make in the glass blender jar: no problems with ice-crushing ability. I even use this cup when I'm not "on-the-go" just to reduce the dishes I need to wash.

The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is that I wish the cup was a little smaller. Probably not everyone will agree with me, but no one needs THAT much smoothie for breakfast and I would rather have it fit into my bag more easily. The description says 18 oz blending capacity, but I would say it's closer to 20. Sometimes I'm just annoyed that I'm carrying this huge cup that's only 1/2 to 2/3 full. But that's just my preference. Oh yeah, and it's too tall to use a normal...

Soyajoy G4 Soy Milk Maker and Soup Maker - with All Stainless Steel Inside - New 2013 Model Introduction Sale

Excellent for almond milk
I like to make large volumes of food once or twice a month and freeze everything for later use. So I was looking for a machine that could help streamline my almond milk making process. This item has done that for me. It easily doubled my output (mileage may vary). :) I wish there was a mechanism to squeeze the excess milk from the pulp since passive draining through a sieve (a very nice and finely meshed one too, though a tad smallish) usually isn't enough. I also turn the almond pulp into crackers so I do need the excess liquid removed. I used a cloth to wring the liquid out, but every other step in the process was easy and fast. I used the raw/juice option for my milk. I do add warm water so I could use one of the heating options as well if I chose to add cold water. The raw/juice option takes maybe 8-10mins. While the heated options take 26 mins (per the manual). I just wanted to go faster and I had warm water handy. I processed through just under 9 lbs of almonds in a little over...

Blessedly quiet, makes great almond milk
My ND suggested I stop drinking soy milk as it was raising my estradiol levels. He suggested substituting almond milk.

I tried making it with my Osterizer, which was incredibly noisy and messy.

Then I ordered the G4 from Amazon after some research and it is very quiet, apart from some very annoying loud beeps when you program it and when it is finished making the milk.

I have found that it is vital to soak the almonds for at least 12 hours to soften them. I have also found that increasing the number of almonds 50% over what they recommend makes a thicker, most tasty milk and cycling the G4 three times makes the pulp so fine you don't really need to strain it. The fiber is good for you anyway.

Now, if we could just get them to tone down the beeps.

Makes Great Soymilk
Soyajoy G4 makes great tasting soy milk and requires very minimal effort from its user. That doesn't mean no work, but it's far easier to make soy milk with this product than using traditional kitchen tools like pots and blenders.

I used to buy soy milk from a grocery store, and there are several things I had to learn (or am still learning) when I switched to making soy milk at home:

1.Soy beans need to be soaked in water overnight before cooking (though Soyajoy G4 does have an option for both soaked and dry beans, soaked beans would yield better result according to the manual). So if you wake up in the morning and realize that you don't have enough soy milk left for your breakfast cereal, oops, too late.

2.Making soy milk yields quite a lot of okara (pulpy left over from milking process). Okara is nutritious and beneficial for one's health, but incorporating okara into my daily diet isn't so intuitive and I'm still learning how to make good use of...

Vitamix 1732 TurboBlend VS Blender

Variable speed is essential, best deal here
If you're serious about using a Vitamix, you need the variable speed (VS). And I don't mean just high and low, but 1-10, in addition to high and low. With that, you can make cole sole in 2 seconds (no kidding!) and a lot of other things that you couldn't with more limitations, because different things require different speeds, sometimes increasing incrementally.

This is the same price, package and warranty that you get if you buy directly from Vitamix. I was tempted to rate it only 4 stars, because it is way overpriced. With an Amazon Store card, it's interest-free IF you pay it off within 6 months -- and that's vital, because whopping interest applies if you don't. Vitamix has a payment plan, too, but you have to pay more when you order and have only 3 months after that to pay it off. So Amazon's deal breaks it up into 6 smaller payments, which makes it the most affordable way for many of us to get one of these machines. There is nothing else quite like them. Blentec is...

Worth every penny...
Yes, the Vitamix is an expensive blender at $500. It simply can't be compared to any other though - it is an amazing product. All of the claims are true - you can put just about anything in it and turn into a consistent smooth liquid. To be honest I'm not a big veggie guy, yet I know the importance of consuming them - there is a ton of research that validates a plant-based diet is MUCH healthier than SAD (Standard American Diet). I've had the Vitamix for about a week and have had fun making fruit/veggie smoothies (that taste good - even with lots of green stuff!). The TurboBlend VS is the one to go for - the "cookbook" that comes with it is full of great ideas.

Recommended to all!
Wow, count me in as a newly minted VitaMix convert!

I just got delivery of my new VitaMix blender (to replace an NSF-rated KitchenAid Commercial blender [ahem, that's NSF, not NSFW...]) and immediately put it to work.

I threw in all that I could find, which was Kale, Celery, Carrots, Daikon, Cabbage, Ginger root, Strawberries, Pear, Apple, Orange, dried Apricots, Prunes, Flax seed, Psyllium husk, raw Almonds, raw Pine Nuts, Tumeric (ground), Ascorbic Acid, plenty of ice and some water.

I did leave out the Canteloupe; clearly no more room at the inn... (I had to force the lid down to allow it to snap back on.)

The initial mixture was mud pot thick. With the blades racing underneath at 240 mph the top of the mix sat insanely still, with just an occasional belch (signal?) of air slowly surfacing through the verdant depths.

Adding a bit of water did the trick, liberating the brew into a whirling pot of creamy veg and fruit. Not a...

Holmes HEH8031-UM Energy Saving Heater Fan

Great heater.
This heater is surprisingly quiet. I am impressed. It's not as flashy as more expensive heaters but the performance is just as good as any other 1500w heater out there. Living in MN I've pretty much tried every type of space heater. I've used other heating coil fan style heaters, radiator, micathermic, quartz, and ceramic tower heaters. This is one of the least expesive space heaters that I've bought and it performs very well. It's hard to find a good heater that's quiet at any price point, let alone one with a digital thermostat that functions correctly. This one is a winner. It has a 3 yr. warranty which seems to be pretty standard with most space heaters. FYI - I actually bought this at Target for a little cheaper (paid the same with tax) and plan on purchasing a second one.

Almost great, poorly made
This seemed like a great by - reduce energy use, put out some heat, and cool to the touch, as it was going in my 2 yr old's room. First unit arrived, worked great! Heated room, cool to touch, and didn't need to run constantly. After about a week of very limited use - it stopped working. Seemed to be a control malfunction, would display, but not turn on. OK, defective unit. Sent it back, got the replacement quickly. Worked great - FOR ONE DAY! It now powers on, puts out a weird spark on the coil, heats for 4 seconds then clunks out. Doesn't seem safe and doesn't work. Either they have terrible quality control or something is wrong with their design, because I can't believe a company could put out a product that fails this miserably. Fool me once... It's getting returned now, off to look for something similar that works (kind of the baseline requirement).

A great little heater
This is the perfect heater to heat one room. We use it in our bathroom before taking a shower. I like the digitial controls which are very easy to read. Also, it automatically shuts off if it gets tipped over. It is very lightweight and streamlined. It is a very good heater for the price.

Supco WF294 Refrigerator Water Filter Cartridge

Will do the job but...
the head will fit with the fridge but the filter diameter is smaller than the original Samsung filter. This meant it is harder to put it in (unlike the original Samsung filter, you will need to turn off the water or otherwise the water will spill out)

Good savings
Installs with no trouble. Always shut the water supply off, even they say you don't have to . We have a small shut off right behind and a little to the left of our Samsung 28 that is very handy .Twist old filter to the left about 1/4 turn then pull out . Install new filter after wiping the front with clean paper towel ,then install by positioning the filter handle top at the 8'o clock position ,push in straight then turn filter handle to the 12'o clock position , you will feel resistance, but you will know when it is in connect position .Turn the shut off back on , bleed the line , it will sputter at first ( about one gal . or so ). Check for leaks with a flash light . Filter tests better than incoming tap water on my water quality tester . Works for us .

Great price
This filter replaces my original Samsung filter perfectly ata an affordable price. I wil ldefinately order from another one when the time comes.

Whirlpool 285811 Agitator Repair Kit for Washer

Fits perfect, and a lot quieter operation
This fixed my agitator issue on my Whirlpool washer. My agitator dog ears were very worn which was causing a loud grinding noise every few seconds. I could have replaced just those four parts (dog ears) for a bit cheaper, but I figured while I had it all apart I would replace the entire cam, bolt and o-ring. I was confused because other suppliers say that the cam needed for my washer is described as "medium" and this item has it listed as "medium" and "small". That should probably be corrected by Amazon (or sellers) to alleviate confusion. This cam is roughly 2.375" tall and fits perfectly. I'm not sure if this is considered small or medium, but it fits just right in my washer.

I also didn't understand the removal of the factory 'tags' on the lower agitator. It seems like if they were removed then it would be a bit more difficult to install. I didn't remove them and everything snapped into place perfectly.

The part number on the cam that I replaced was FSP...

Easy, very inexpensive repair of Agitator...done by my wife!
You can spend several hundred dollars on a new washer. You can spend over a hundred dollars on a repair call. Or you can order this repair kit and fix it yourself in about 10 or 15 minutes. If your Whirlpool Agitator seems to be slipping, this is your solution.

BTW my wife ordered and installed this after watching a video on You Tube! When I went to the big box store, they told me they don't sell this repair kit because they want people to buy a new washer instead of fixing the old one. I thanked him profusely for his honesty, and shared that with my wife. It motivated her to take action herself. The best part...one less thing on my "honey do" list. ;-)

worked like a charm
saved a ton of money since I didn't have to call a repair guy to come out. installation was extremely easy.
